A group of buddies and I will be heading to Sam and Harry’s tonight to partake of DC’s Summer iteration of Restaurant Week. Until I get those photos taken and uploaded, here’s the shots from our January foray to Georgia Brown’s.
Nothing says “Lowcountry Cuisine” like fried green tomatoes…
And yes… We’re only just getting things started! Entrees and dessert below the jump…
It’s debatable as to whether or not fried chicken *should* be served soaked in gravy (It’s not an abomination to me since I came from the deep south, where smothered dishes are common). It was completely savory, and the chicken skin was still a little crispy… almost to spite the gravy.
Shrimp & Grits (with Andouille Sausage)
I don’t know if the salmon was *supposed* to be blackened, but that didn’t matter to Shannon (who likes things with a little carbon on them).
Biscuitry!
No Southern meal is complete without some *real* sweet tea. This one had some peach to it….
And now… dessert…. Carrot mini-cakes for some of us and Red Velvet for others…
Of course one decided to be different and go for the peach cobbler.
Shots from Sam and Harry’s in a few days…
